You’ve given your students book smarts …
but do they really have money smarts?
Young adults today are … getting bad grades, dropping out of school, defaulting on student loans, losing jobs and future job opportunities, getting cars repossessed, maxing out an average of 3.5 credit cards, ruining their credit ratings, and filing bankruptcies at record rates. They’re moving back in with parents again and again — and parents are spending their own retirement funds trying to keep them out of even more financial trouble. Even worse, though, is the psychological impact of debt on today’s youth. It can result in depression, substance abuse, even suicide.
Be sure your students can manage the money they’ll earn.
Book Sally Taylor’s Money Talks! program today and give your students a complete education.

Dear Student Representative:
The statistics are staggering for young adults and the financial trouble they're getting into. For instance, did you know that more students quit college due to credit card debt than to academic failure? For those that do graduate, on average, they owe almost $20,000 in student loans - and another $2,700 to $10,000 in credit card debt - with no guaranteed job upon graduation. Can you imagine being nearly $30,000 in debt at the age of 22?
Did you know that students receive an average of 8 credit card offers their first week of college? No income necessary. With credit card holders aged 18 to 24, nearly 64% don't even know the interest rates they pay on their credit cards (most pay over 18%) - and they only pay the minimum monthly payment.
Here's the really staggering one: Did you know that more young adults file for bankruptcy than graduate from college? Nearly 7% of our nation's personal bankruptcies are filed by 15- to 25-year-olds, an increase of more than 50% for that age group in recent years.
Don't let these be the statistics for your students. Teach them about money before they get into financial trouble. Help them manage the money they'll earn with the education you've given them. Be pro-active ... not reactive!
How do we, as a community, respond and not just point fingers?
We have to teach students about money. It's no longer an option.
Book Sally Taylor's Money Talks! program and

Action, not excuses.

Sally takes this to heart and talks to students about depression, anxiety, the role of drugs and alcohol, and suicide. She offers guidance on how to notice warning signs and help a friend. She says, “If you think a friend might be suicidal, don’t worry about your friend being mad at you. I’d rather have Erek mad at me for the rest of his life ... than have him dead for the rest of mine.”
